On Saturday, May 2, there were 63 cars parked at the East Fork Jemez River parking area in the early afternoon. People are very eager to get outdoors given the covid19 stay-at-home orders. People are flocking to other areas of the state like the Pecos River area near Cowles and other trailheads, especially where water flows. The pandemic has really exposed a strong desire by the American people to be outdoors on their public lands.
The East Fork Trail is part of the Jemez National Recreation Area managed by the US Forest Service, Jemez District. There are no restrooms at the trailhead.
